The campaign was launched to ᴀssist Marie Marseille, a New York native and registered nurse living in Los Angeles, after Jameson was fatally injured during an encounter with officers outside her apartment following celebrations of the New York Knicks’ NBA championship victory.

According to the family, Jameson was wearing a New York Knicks jersey and was at home when police officers responded to the apartment complex after a 911 call reporting a possible disturbance.

Within days, a GoFundMe campaign organized by relatives and friends exceeded $100,000, with contributors leaving heartfelt comments remembering Jameson as a gentle and affectionate companion who brought joy to everyone around him.
