Elena Katherine Moore Update: Police Say Body Found Matching Clothing Description

Posted by hoangduc - June 25, 2026

The Lexington Police Department in South Carolina announced a body has been found on Wednesday amid the search for Elena Katherine Moore after receiving a community tip.

Acting on information that Moore had been seen near North Lake Drive and Old Cherokee Road on June 11, officers and emergency personnel conducted an extensive search of the wooded area, police said.

According to police on Wednesday, authorities discovered an unidentified body whose clothing matched Moore’s description. The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division has been requested to lead the death investigation.

Moore, 39, was last seen late on June 11 at a Planet Fitness in Lexington, where she frequently worked out. Moore’s husband, Brannon Slice, reported her missing the following day, police said.

“No further contact with the missing woman has been reported,” police said in a statement on Monday.

Moore had not been located as of early Wednesday, Lexington Police Department Inspector Missy Silcox told Newsweek. She said that there was no indication of foul play as of late Tuesday, and that “Mr. Slice is not a person of interest at the current moment.”

Lexington police announced Wednesday afternoon that officers planned to search wooded areas near Lakeside Middle School as part of the probe.

Slice is cooperating with investigators, private investigator Harry Dukes of Columbia-based Dukes Investigations & Consulting told Newsweek.

Newsweek reached out to Slice and Moore’s relatives for comment on Wednesday.

Police released new pH๏τographs late Tuesday showing Moore walking through a Publix parking lot after she left a Planet Fitness at 560 Whiteford Way. She appeared to be heading toward Old Cherokee Road while wearing an olive-green hoodie and black athletic pants.

Investigators also released a pH๏τo of Moore from a doorbell camera taken a week before she was reported missing. Officers previously deployed drones in the search for Moore, who works as a personal trainer at Wolf’s Fitness Center in Lexington.

Wolf’s Fitness Center told Newsweek that they “have given all information to the police” and “will continue to ᴀssist them with any information we have or receive.”

Lauren Beasley, Moore’s friend, said they last spoke about a month ago.

“She did not say anything personal about anything she was going through,” Beasley told Fox News Digital. “She got married last year, but she didn’t say anything about her relationship or work or anything personal.”

But Moore stopped her regular social media posts about a month ago, which Beasley said was abnormal.

“She is very active on social media so her going radio silent for the last month is out of character,” she told the outlet.

Dukes Investigations & Consulting is offering a $1,500 reward for information leading to Moore’s whereabouts.

“Mrs. Elena Katherine Moore has now been missing for six days,” company officials wrote on Facebook while requesting that residents check security cameras for possible footage of the missing woman.

Harry Dukes said the new pH๏τos of Moore will help the investigation, but don’t offer a full picture of her movements just before her disappearance.

“We just don’t know the circumstances. Is she still walking around?” he told NewsNation. “I mean, she’s a fitness person, so walking is not something I would say would be out of character.”

Dukes said Moore’s husband has been “distraught” over her disappearance.

“If she’s out walking around in the city, wherever, somebody’s got to notice her, and what we want them to do is pick up the phone,” Dukes told NewsNation.
